The legend lives!

Some say that the legendary creatures called centaurs no longer exist, but boy! Were we surprised to find that our very own anatomy instructor, Andrew, actually held a mythical secret of his own! He revealed his true colors to only a small group today during a privileged moment in class.
Some may think it odd, but Andrew had no qualms at all about showing us all of the major anatomical features of one of his cousins. With only on side track on the movies Alien and Star Wars, the business was kept strictly professional.
Now he may go back to class tomorrow, appearing as completely normal and human as ever. However, for those of us who have shared class with him these last two weeks, the truth about who and what he truly is will remain with us as a secret- one that won’t be spilled for all the world!
Appologies

Sorry for not posting yesterday. For once, the lateness was not due to me! An internet connection problem was the culprit. But speaking of tardiness, I started thinking of the stereotype that men always have to wait on women to get ready before going out. Guys, perhaps this photo will give you a little insight into what a woman has to actually go through to get ready. And to make the matters worse, this is what goes on for a “typical” day- everyday makeup. Don’t even get us started on what special details must be completed for a special event. This is an extremely limited makeup box compared to some, and I haven’t even mentioned hair and the likes. There’s much more to this subject than you would like to know. Just trust us when we say we’re try to do all these things as quickly as possible.
Vroom, vroom!

Amongst the misplaced plans I had this evening for my study break, I ended up at the Ferrari store on Regent Street, and saw and heard of so many very pretty cars that I knew nothing about! But it was still very entertaining and reminded me only too much of my dear brother, the one person that I know whose knowledge about such things far surpasses everyone else, for he has such a passion for engineering that I have never found in a second soul.
No photos, please!

Oh! Since I’ve been keeping up with this blog fairly faithfully and have only been late in my posts once or twice, and have occasionally posted more than one photo a day, I’ve decided that it may be time for nice little break. Today contains no photo, though if truth be told, it was a fantastic night to take one! If truth be told, I simply forgot my camera, and since all I had was my phone camera, nothing good came of it. Oh well. Cest la vie! I did, however attend a dance party tonight with my youth group. It was fantastic, as most things here are, and I even got to dance my first ceildh, a Scottish folk dance that reminded me very much of the country dances of Pride and Prejudice! I loved it- and not just because it sounds like my name!
The best last day

What’s better than chatting and eating dinner with a friend in a “floating” restaurant? Making fun of each other while doing so! I feel the beginning sensation of what always happens when one must part with a dear friend, and I might be a bit miserable for the next few days. But the good news is that I’ll write about it and throw myself more into my school work, thus inhibiting me from dwelling on the thought. That’s my plan, and I’m sticking to it!
Though the week went by in a blink of an eye, it was fantastic! I think I’ve done as much or more this week than I did the entire first month of being in London! There are many more places to streets to be travelled, cities to be explored, and mysteries to unravel, but alas, they must wait for another day. For now, I must rest so that I may focus on the days to come, especially with the term drawing to a close soon. Goodbye, my friend! Safe journey! Write as soon as you land!
Stepping back in time

Today was an adventure and a half! I went with my friend to Windsor Castle, Stone Henge, and Bath- all in one day! It was jam-packed, that’s for sure, and I’m not sure exactly which picture is my favorite, but it was entertaining and educational to say the least! I think that Bath may very well be one of my favorite cities now of all time! Even though I didn’t see much of it, it had such charm and brought to life so many stories that I couldn’t help but be taken with it! Though Stone Henge and the Castle are prominent sites and I got some really awesome shots and even the Queen was at the Castle today, neither compared to the charm of this Limestone city. I really couldn’t tell you what it is; it’s just fantastic!
Just another week day

It’s cold and grey in London, but there was some sharp contrast to the color of the sky when I saw sparks flying on my way past the college today. It’s apparently just another work day for all of the construction and renovation that is speckled all across the city. Here, even the Beaumont Hospital is having more work done along the railing to one of the entrances. For me, it’s a day of rest and catching up on work as well because who knows what tomorrow may bring?
There’s a reason for a long glove!

Amongst today’s insanity, there was my first experience with haptics! The haptic cow, demonstrated here, contains a robotic arm, which is attached to your finger. Then the computer program, which is told what type of surface you are intended to feel, applies the appropriate pressure back on your hand as you move it along the inside of the fake cow. In this way, you can get a sense of what you’re feeling for within the animal, and by use of a visual on a nearby computer, the instructor can tell you if you are feeling the correct landmark. It doesn’t require a glove and doesn’t actually feel like the inside of a cow, but it does give you a better idea of what to “look” for the next time you get the chance!
I heart London!

What’s better than seeing a fantastic, historical city such as London? Seeing it a second time with a best friend! My friend and I saw nearly all of Westminster in one afternoon/evening, and I got to sit back and watch her face as she experienced it all for the first time. I could see every second of awe-inspiring, dazzling emotion in her face as we saw Big Ben, the London Eye, and of course, those big red buses! The lights and sounds that are so gorgeous to those who have only ever seen them on the TV screen are breathtaking when actually seen for the first time, though most every Londoner walks by without a second glance. I know I’ve been here for such a time so that it’s hard to call me a tourist, but I love retrograding back into that honeymoon phase and seeing it all again!
New Growth!

After a month and a half of nurturing my windowsill plant, which had nearly perished over the winter break, it is finally blooming again! It’s still fighting a bit of a fungal infection that seems to be stemming from the soil. Heaven knows I’d change its pot and everything if I actually had a garden or supplies, but at least it’s looking cheerful again!
